Welcome The Practice About Doulas About Me Doula Services
People commonly think that “aromatherapy” refers to anything that smells good, like scented candles, potpourri, and perfumes. In complementary medicine we use the term “aromatherapy” to refer to the therapeutic application of plant essential oils (usually diluted in some type of solution) by qualified practitioners.

Therapeutic grade essential oils are natural dynamic essences, extracted from various plants, shrubs and trees. Aromatherapy involves the remedial use of these essential oils, often through massage, but also through inhalation and external application. Looking at the whole person, I begin by preparing an essential oil blend in a base of cold pressed oil.

The oils selected will be matched to a condition or simply to bring about deep relaxation.  The blend is then applied to the client's skin through a relaxing massage treatment which works deeply on the physical tensions held within the body and muscles.

I work intuitively, in a rhythmic and flowing pattern to induce relaxation for your mind as well as your body, helping to maintain your body's equilibrium the way that nature intended.

As a holistic treatment, aromatherapy can have a profound effect on physical and psychological well-being. There exists the belief that scent, as the most enduring of our senses, has the power to transform our emotions, and heal our bodies.

The power of touch also has powerful effects - our bodies surge with endorhins, the feel-good hormones, when we are touched, which promotes confidence, reduces pain and tension and also boosts our immune systems preventing illnesses. A one hour aromatherapy treatment costs $55.
